F. D. Reese is a Christian academy specializing in learning based on the ABEKA curriculum. This curriculum teaches children to read and write using biblical principles. ABEKA's purpose is to be a God-given ministry of Christian schools that lead young people to Christ and train them in Bible, Christian character, language, and traditional subject matter. Today’s students need to be taught the accumulated wisdom of the past from God’s point of view and trained in the way they should go (Prov. 22:6) so they will have a firm foundation from which to evaluate the present and make proper decisions for the future.

ABEKA is designed for the average student to master skills in the following subject areas:

  • Bible
  • Grammar
  • Science
  • Spelling
  • Reading
  • Mathematics
  • History
  • Art
  • Music
  • Penmanship
  • Phonics
  • Physical Education

CLASSROOM LEARNING ENVIRONMENT: One key to learning is the atmosphere in the classroom. Since parents and students are paying for the privilege of studying and learning, this privilege should not be taken away by other students. Therefore, all students are expected to conduct themselves in a way that will be conducive to learning and to the learning of all of their fellow students.

The following general rules will assist in establishing and maintaining a proper learning environment.
1. Each student is to bring necessary items to be adequately prepared for class
2. Students are to be in their seats, ready for class, when the bell rings.
3. All assignments are to be completed on time.

Mrs. Patricia Anderson

My name is Patricia Anderson and I am delighted to serve this year as the K4/K5 teacher at F.D. Reese Christian Academy. FDRCA is near and dear to my heart. I have been with the Academy since its beginning and I am delighted in the upward direction it’s heading. I am eager to follow Mr. Newsome’s leadership as he serves as our new Chief Administrator/Principal. The best is yet to come.

At the age of five I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior in Madera, California at the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Believing the Lord had place in me the gift to teach, I pursued a higher education after high school and attended California State University, Fresno to perfect the gift God had placed in me I. I graduated CSUF with my Bachelor’s in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Elementary Education. Wow, I’ve been teaching close to twenty years now. While at FDRCA I’ve served in many areas from the Interim Principal to a K4 – third grade teacher. As FDRCA enters its fifth year of service I am pleased to be a part of its vision as they continue “Bridging a Path to Excellence.”
This will be a great year with lots of learning and fun events as we explore our city and beyond. I absolutely love working with children and helping them reach for their dreams through education while fostering the fact that God loves them and has a wonderful plan for their lives. I believe every child should be valued, treated with respect and encouraged to be the best “them” they can be. A Christian education empowers a child and helps him or her make a positive influence to our world.
My husband and I have a beautiful family of one son and daughter in-law, three daughters, two grandsons and one four-legged child. We have lived in Kokomo for the past ten years and happy to be in the CITY of FIRST. I enjoy traveling, meeting new people and learning something new every day.
I am looking forward to seeing what God has in store for the life of my students as we travel through the halls of FDRCA this school year! The best is yet to come.

Yours Truly,

Mrs. Anderson
